When plugged into a computer, the cable is recognized as a virtual COM port, and data from the CA can then be viewed or logged with a program like Hyperterminal. Most computers will automatically install the necessary driver, but if not it can be downloaded here. Please note that this device does not come with any user friendly software, and is intended at the moment for computer-savvy DIY types who are familiar with handling raw RS232 data.
